Last semester part of my ArtEdu project was to create a ‘resource file’ of mostly tutorials, inspiration, etc. I found the section on ImagineFX’s site of most of their tutorials for free. Here is a nice package of them for your use too (save for their newest ones.) I’ll keep it on my dropbox for a while.

I’m not totally sure why that is, though I have some guesses. It might have something to do with the way I learn and organize learned information. It seems like I have a really hard time remembering things I can’t anchor to an underlying comprehension of the subject. For…
Right now, Dan Meyer is my math hero. The first I’ve seen of him was his Ted Talk explaining why many kids don’t get math and how it’s been taught wrong. The biggest thing I took away from his presentation was how to think about math- how to put it in real world scenarios. Math shouldn’t be all about memorizing formulas, but the higher order thinking involved to solve problems outside of a step-by-step process.
He also has a pretty cool blog. While a lot of it is teaching orientated, he does have three good websites on math lessons. Perhaps you can use some of those lessons for teaching yourself? (It’s under the tab ‘my projects’ )
Math theories aside, there is always Khan academy. I used this to help teach myself the math basics before teaching math at my teaching placement. It’s a good place to go to to start learning the basics.

So me and my sister were thinking of putting together a voice acting troupe to voice act comics, much the same way as Let’s Read: Homestuck.
Would anyone be interested in helping out? Or perhaps you have some webcomics in mind?
